Terry has over thirty-five years of experience in financial institutions, ranging from commercial banking to mortgage banking and regulatory review. He served for ten years as a Financial and Business regulator for the state of New Mexico, first as the Supervising Director of consumer-finance institutions for the New Mexico Financial Institutions Divisions and then as the Planning Director for the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department. Prior to affiliating with Womack Wealth Management, Terry was an independent Financial Advisor with Ameriprise Financial for seven years and at Morgan Stanley for five years.
Terry began his educational and professional career as a musician. First as member of student orchestras in the U.S. and Europe, later as a member of the New Mexico Symphony, the Dallas Civic Symphony and other regional and community orchestras. After a short time as a musician, he changed educational and professional pursuits to business studies. This change resulted in an undergraduate business degree from Southern Methodist University and a graduate business degree from the University of New Mexico.
Terry and his wife, Denise J. Fligner, M.D., are both New Mexico natives who met while in high-school. His oldest daughter graduated from the University of Delaware and his youngest daughter recently graduated from Lawrence University. He has served as board president of the Albuquerque Youth Symphony. Terry and his wife as well as their daughter are alumni of the youth symphony. Music continues to be an important part of their lives. Terry is also currently a board member of Hawks Aloft, an Albuquerque based non-profit working to conserve indigenous wild birds.
